Equipping the families of greater Boston with prenatal classes & other newborn supports
Lots of parents feel unprepared to bring a new baby home. You’re not alone.
Our prenatal classes educate, guide, and thereby empower parents to feel more relaxed and prepared to embrace this new role. Whether it be basic newborn care, breastfeeding, or both, let us come and help you take the necessary steps to prepare for the birth of your baby.
Our various preparatory classes are perfect for Mom and a support person or the whole family – you decide. Prenatal classes are offered one-on-one or in small groups of up to eight moms and a support parent. Dolls and props are made available for hands-on learning and practice.
Prenatal Lactation Teaching
The final weeks and months of pregnancy can be especially nerve-wracking. Here at Northeast Moms and Babies we’re not only nurse practitioners but mothers as well. We’ve been there, and we get it.
There are numerous benefits to breastfeeding, so let us come to your home and help to prepare you for it before your baby arrives, discussing the best breastfeeding diet and answering all your breastfeeding questions, including what to do if your baby isn’t latching, soreness, over and under supply of breast milk, pumping, and more. Knowledge is definitely power when it comes to breastfeeding success in the early days.
Prenatal Newborn Care Teaching
In this teaching session we’ll go over what to expect in the early days of caring for a newborn. Some popular topics are: soothing, swaddling, bathing, cord care, circumcision care, when to call your baby’s doctor, normal sleep patterns, and normal bowel and bladder patterns. We will answer all your questions and help you set up a safe environment for your baby.
The prenatal lactation teaching and prenatal newborn teaching sessions can be combined in one visit for a discounted price.
